Location: Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons/Joseph S. Koury Convention Center
Cost: $165 until July 10; $200 Onsite. Online registration will close July 10. Payment must be mailed by July 10 in order to be processed. Some sessions require additional payment.
Program Highlights
Summer Conference for Health Occupations Educations teachers is a time of renewal, updates and networking. An exciting agenda has been planned for you with emphasis on improving outcomes for students and on low objective scores on post assessments. This conference will give you an opportunity to update your skills and network with other HOE teachers across the state.

HOE 80-Hour Induction

$150, includes break on Sunday and lunch on Sunday and Monday
This course prepares provisionally licensed teachers to become effective using a variety of strategies for Health Occupations Education. The course is designed for teachers who have been teaching less than two full years. Register during the online conference registration process. -
NC Health Occupations Education Teachers Association Preconference
9:00am - 4:15 pm Monday, July 19
The 2010 preconference will address two topics critical to the success of the Health Occupations Education teacher. The morning session is dedicated to prevention to include pandemic flu, seasonal flu and MRSA. In the afternoon session, Laura Hamilton takes a humorous look at how to deal with the stresses and challenges of being a superwoman and a teacher. Register with Greensboro AHEC. -
Nurse Aide Best Practices
8:00am - 9:30am Tuesday, July 20
Practice does NOT make perfect; it makes permanent. Good practice makes perfect! Nurse aide skills that are a part of the NACES competency exam will be the focus of this session. This is a hands on session. Preregistration is NOT required. -
Nurse Aide Update
10:00am - 12:00pm Tuesday, July 20
Can't drive a car without some type of fuel. Can't run a nurse aide program without the latest scoop. This session is a must for nurse aide instructors, veteran or fresh out of the box. Changes for the 2010-2011 school year, to include the new test application process and fees, will be discussed. Preregistration is NOT required.
